Greenland
In June 2008 we flew via Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq, a former US base that is now one of Greenland’s international airports, where we joined Hurtigruten’s MS Fram for a voyage along the W coast of Greenland, and Disko Island.
We sailed amongst icebergs to visit multi-coloured towns and villages, receding glaciers and a melting ice-cap, in 24-hour daylight.
The Arctic is a spell-binding place, its people live hard lives, in a dangerous yet fragile environment, but all we met were smiles – some of which feature amongst these images.
